“No lot has fallen on it.” It has not been chosen by lot to be blessed. The people cannot say that Yahweh has chosen Israel.

“nor will I change my mind.” The Hebrew word translated “change my mind” is nacham (#05162 נָחַם), and in this context, it means to change one’s mind and the subsequent course of action (cp. NLT). God sometimes changes His mind in response to what people do, but in this case the sin of the people was so great that disaster could not be averted. “and do not eat men’s bread.” There would commonly be food and drink at the home of the person who died (cp. Jer. 16:7). In this case, Ezekiel’s wife was about to die, but God told Ezekiel not to openly mourn her and not to partake of the food that people brought to comfort the family.
