Psalm 9    

¹I will give thanks to Yahweh with my whole heart. I will recount all your marvelous works.
  ²I will rejoice and exult in you. I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.
  ³When my enemies turn back, they will stumble and perish in your presence.
  ⁴For you have upheld my justice and my just cause. You sit on the throne judging with righteousness.
  ⁵You have rebuked the nations. You have destroyed the wicked. You have blotted out their name forever and ever.
  ⁶The enemy has come to an end in perpetual desolations. And you have uprooted their cities; the very memory of them has perished.
  ⁷But Yahweh will sit as king forever. He has established his throne for the judgment.
  ⁸He will judge the world with righteousness; with uprightness He will administer judgment to the peoples.
  ⁹Yahweh will also be a high tower for the oppressed person, a high tower in times of trouble.
  ¹⁰Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, O Yahweh, have not forsaken those who seek you.
  ¹¹Sing praises to Yahweh who dwells in Zion, declare among the people what he has done.
  ¹²For he who avenges blood remembers them, he does not forget the cry of the afflicted.
  ¹³Have mercy on me, O Yahweh. Look upon my affliction caused by those who hate me, O God who lifts me up from the gates of death,
  ¹⁴so that I may recount all your songs of praise. In the gates of Daughter Zion, I will rejoice in your deliverance.
  ¹⁵The nations have sunk down in the pit that they made. Their foot has been caught in the net that they hid.
  ¹⁶Yahweh has made himself known. He has executed judgment. With the deeds of his hands he strikes down the wicked person. Meditation. Selah.
  ¹⁷The wicked will return to Sheol; even all the nations that forgot God.
  ¹⁸For the needy will not always be forgotten, nor will the hope of the afflicted perish forever.
  ¹⁹Arise, O Yahweh! Do not let humans prevail. Let the nations be judged in your presence.
  ²⁰Put them in terror, O Yahweh. Let the nations know that they are only human. Selah.
