A Prayer of David.

Incline your ear, O Yahweh, and answer me, for I am afflicted and in need.
Watch over my soul, for I am faithful. You, O my God, deliver your servant who trusts in you!
Show favor to me, O Lord, for I call to you all day long.
Make the soul of your servant glad, for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
For you, O Lord, are good and ready to forgive, yes, abundant in covenant faithfulness to all who call on you.
Give ear, O Yahweh, to my prayer. Yes, give attention to the voice of my supplications!
In the time of my distress I will call on you, for you will answer me.
There is no one like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours.
All nations you have made will come and bow down before you,a O Lord. Yes, they will give honor to your name.
For you are great and do wondrous things. You alone are God.
Teach me, O Yahweh, your truth! I will walk in your faithfulness. Unite my heart so that I can fear your name.
I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart. I will give honor to your name forevermore.
For great is your covenant faithfulness toward me, in that you will deliver my soul from the depths of Sheol.
O God, the insolent have risen up against me. Yes, a band of ruthless people seek after my soul, and they have not set you before them.
But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abundant in covenant faithfulness and truth.
Turn to me and show me favor! Give your strength to your servant, and deliver the son of your servant girl.
Show me a good sign, that those who hate me may see it and be put to shame, because you, O Yahweh, have helped me and comforted me.
