For the Musical Director.
To Jeduthun.
A Psalm of Asaph.

My voice rises to God; indeed, I cry out; my voice rises to God that he will listen to me.
In the day of my distress I sought the Lord. My hand was stretched out in the night and did not grow weary. My soul refused to be comforted.
I remember God, and I groan. I ponder, and my spirit grows faint. Selah.
You held my eyelids open. I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
I have considered the days of old, the years of long ago.
I remember my music in the night. I ponder in my own heart; my spirit diligently searches,
“Will the Lord reject us forever? And will he never be favorable again?
Has his covenant faithfulness ceased forever? Has his word ended for generation after generation?
Has God forgotten to show compassion? Has he, in anger, shut the door on his tender mercies?” Selah.
Then I said, “This is my grief: the right hand of the Most High has changed.”
I will remember Yah’s deeds, indeed I will remember your wonders of old.
Yes, I will meditate on all your work and ponder your deeds.
Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like Elohim?
You are the God who does wonders. You have made your strength known among the peoples.
You have redeemed your people with your arm, the children of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.
The waters saw you, O God. The waters saw you, and they trembled; Yes, the deeps quaked.
The clouds poured out water. The skies gave forth a sound. Your arrows went forth to and fro.
The sound of your thunder was in the whirlwind. The lightning bolts lit up the world. The earth quaked and shook.
Your road went through the sea; yes, your paths went through the great waters; but your footsteps were not known.
You led your people like a flock, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
