O God, give the king your justice; yes, your righteousness to the king’s son.
He will judge your people with righteousness and your poor with justice.
The mountains will bring peace to the people, and the hills will bring righteousness.
He will judge the poor of the people. He will deliver the children of the needy, and he will crush the oppressive person.
They will fear you as long as the sun endures and in the sight of the moon throughout all generations.
He will come down like rain on the mown grass, as abundant showers drip upon the earth.
The righteous person will flourish in the king’s days, and there will be an abundance of peace until the moon is no more.
Yes, he will rule from sea to sea, from the River Euphrates to the ends of the earth.
Those who dwell in the desert will bow before him. Yes, his enemies will lick the dust.
The kings of Tarshish and of the islands will bring tribute. The kings of Sheba and Seba will offer gifts.
Yes, all kings will bow down before him. All nations will serve him.
For he will deliver the needy person when he cries for help, and the afflicted person who has no helper.
He will have pity on the poor and needy person. And he will deliver the souls of the needy.
He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence. Their blood will be precious in his sight.
May he live long, and may the gold of Sheba be given to him. And may one pray for him continually. May one bless him all day long.
May there be an abundance of grain throughout the land, even on the top of mountains! May its fruits thrive like the cedars of Lebanon. And may those from the city flourish like the vegetation of the earth.
May his name endure forever. May his name flourish as long as the sun. May people be blessed in him. May all nations pronounce him blessed.
Blessed be Yahweh God, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things.
Yes, blessed be his glorious name forever! Yes, let the whole earth be filled with his glory! Amen and amen.
The prayers by David, son of Jesse, have concluded.
