Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint. Guard my life from the terror of the enemy.
Hide me from the counsel of evildoers, from the mob of those committing wickedness;
who sharpen their tongue like a sword, and aim bitter speech like their arrows,
to shoot at the blameless person from a hiding place. Suddenly they shoot him and they do not fear.
They encourage themselves with their evil speech. They report about hiding snares. They say, “Who will see them?”
They devise injustices, saying, “We have completed a well-planned plot.” Yes, man’s inward parts and heart are deep.
But God will shoot an arrow at them. Suddenly they will be wounded.
Their tongue will cause them to fall. Everyone who sees them will shake their heads.
Then every person will fear. And they will declare the work of God, yes, they will wisely ponder the things he has done.
Let the righteous person rejoice in Yahweh, and seek refuge in him. Let all the upright in heart boast in him!
