A Prayer of David.

Hear, O Yahweh, my righteous plea; Give attention to my lamenting cry. Heed my prayer that is not from deceitful lips.
Let my vindication come forth from your presence. Let your eyes see upright things.
You have tested my heart. You have visited me in the night. You have tested me and not found anything. I have resolved that my mouth will not disobey.
As for the works of people, by the word of your lips I have guarded myself from the paths of the violent person.
My steps have held fast to your paths. My feet were not shaken.
I have called on you, because you will answer me, O God. Incline your ear to me. Hear my plea.
Reveal the wonder of your covenant faithfulness, O Savior of those who take refuge at your right hand from those who rise up against them.
Guard me as the apple of your eye. Hide me under the shadow of your wings,
from the presence of the wicked who oppress me, my mortal enemies who surround me.
They have closed their own fat heart. Their mouth speaks arrogantly.
They have now surrounded me in my steps. They set their eyes to cast me down to the earth.
His likeness is that of a lion longing to tear its prey, yes, like a young lion crouching in hiding places.
Arise, O Yahweh, confront his face. Bring him down low. Deliver my soul from the wicked person by your sword,
from men by your hand, O Yahweh, from men of the world whose portion is among the living. But your treasured people, you have filled their belly. Your children are satisfied, and they store up their excess for their children.
“I, with righteousness, will see your face. I will be satisfied with seeing your form when I awake.”
