An inscribed poem of David.

 1 Keep watch over me, O God, for I take refuge in you.

2
I say to Yahweh, “You are my Lord.

 My welfare surely rests upon you.”

 3 You have said to the holy ones who are in the land:

 “they are also majestic;

 all of my delight is in them.”

 4 Those who have acquired another god,

 their pains will be multiplied.

 I will not offer their drink offerings of blood,

 nor will I pronounce their names on my lips.

5
Yahweh is my assigned portion

 and my cup.

 You support my lot.

 6 The lines have fallen to me

 in pleasant places.

 Yes, I have a beautiful inheritance.

7
I will bless Yahweh who has given me counsel.

 Yes, my kidneys instruct me in the night seasons.

 8 I have always kept Yahweh in my sight;

 because he is at my right hand,

 I will not be shaken.

9
Therefore my heart is glad

 and my glory rejoices.

 Yes, my body will also dwell in safety.

 10 For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol,

 nor will you allow your faithful one to see the pit.

 11 You will make known to me the path of life.

 In your presence is fullness of joy.

 In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
