Do not let a slanderer be established in the earth;
may evil hunt the man of violence, to knock him down. Bible see other translations

“evil.” Here in Psalm 140:11, “evil” is a double entendre, and is both a generalization for evil occurrences, and is a personification for evil beings such as the Devil and demons. People who do evil invite evil into their lives, and often sufferer attacks from evil circumstances, people, and demons. See commentary on Proverbs 13:21.
