A Song of Ascents.
Of David.
1I rejoiced when they said to me, “Let’s go to the house of Yahweh!”
2Our feet are now standing inside your gates, O Jerusalem,
3Jerusalem, built as a city firmly joined together;
4to which the tribes ascend— the tribes of Yah, as a testimony for Israel— to give thanks to the name of Yahweh.
5For there thrones were set for judgment, thrones belonging to the house of David.
6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be at ease.
7May peace be inside your ramparts, ease inside your palaces!”
8For the sake of my brothers and my friends, I will now say, “Peace be within you.”
9For the sake of the house of Yahweh our God I will seek your good.
