He who dwells under the protection of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”
For he himself will deliver you from the trap of the fowler and from the destructive pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions. Yes, you will find refuge under his wings. His faithfulness is a shield and a protective wall.
You will not fear the terror by night, the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that walks in darkness, or the destruction that destroys at noon.
A thousand may fall at your side, and 10,000 at your right hand, but death will not come near you.
Surely with your eyes you will look and see the recompense of the wicked.
For you, O Yahweh, are my refuge. You have made the Most High your habitation;
no evil will come upon you, nor will any plague come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you to keep watch over you on all your roads.
They will bear you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and cobra. You will trample down the young lion and the serpent.
“Because he has devoted himself to me, so I will deliver him. I will set him on high because he has known my name.
He will call on me and I will answer him. I will be with him in distress. I will deliver him and honor him.
I will satisfy him with length of days, yes, I will show him my salvation.”
