When a wicked person dies, his hope perishes,
and his hope of wealth perishes. Bible see other translations

“hope of wealth.” The wicked person hopes to gain wealth, but that hope perishes when he dies. It is commonly said, “You can’t take it [wealth on earth] with you,” but wicked people act as if they could. They ignore the God who could give them everlasting life and joy, and follow after their fleshly desires. The translation wealth comes from the HALOT Hebrew and Aramaic Lexicon.
