So the priests, and the Levites, and the gatekeepers, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Temple servants, and all Israel, lived in their cities.
When the seventh month had come, the children of Israel were in their cities.

“Temple servants.” These people, the “Nethinim” in Hebrew, were slaves that were serving the Levites in the work of the Temple. See commentary on Ezra 2:43.
