“his mother-in-law.” Peter was married (cp. 1 Cor. 9:5), but typical of the biblical culture we know little about Peter’s family. Clement of Alexandria said Peter had children (Stromata; book 3, chap. 6). They are protected by the silence from personal intrusion.
