Matthew Chapter 28    

¹Now late on the Sabbath day, as it began to dusk and come toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
 

²And Look! There was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and was sitting on it.
  ³His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing was white as snow,
  ⁴and for fear of him the guards shook, and became as dead men.
 

⁵And the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not fear, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who has been crucified.
  ⁶He is not here, for he has been raised, just as he said. Come, see the place where he was lying,
  ⁷and go quickly and tell his disciples he was raised from the dead. And indeed, he is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there. Look, I have told you.”
  ⁸And having departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, they ran to report about him to his disciples.
  ⁹And Look! Jesus met them, saying, “Greetings.” And they came and took hold of his feet and paid homage^a to him.
  ¹⁰Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go tell my brothers to go away to Galilee, and they will see me there.”
 

¹¹Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city, and told the chief priests all the things that happened.
  ¹²And after they had assembled with the elders and discussed the matter, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,
  ¹³saying, “Say that his disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were sleeping.
  ¹⁴And if the governor hears about this, we will persuade him and keep you out of trouble.”
  ¹⁵So they took the money and did as they were instructed, and this report was spread around among the Jews, and continues until this day.
 

¹⁶The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them.
  ¹⁷And when they saw him, they bowed down before him, but some doubted.
  ¹⁸And Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
  ¹⁹Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the holy spirit,
  ²⁰teaching them to obey all that I commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
