“Now when the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places, seeking a resting place, and does not find it. Bible other translations

“a resting place.” The Greek is anapausis (#372 ἀνάπαυσις), and it can either mean “rest” or “a resting place.” Here, the better translation is “a resting place,” that is a place to settle in and use as a base for causing trouble and harm. See commentary on Luke 11:24.
