When Yahweh raised up judges for them, then Yahweh was with the judge and saved them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge, for Yahweh was moved to pity by their groanings because of their oppressors and persecutors.
“and saved them.” Here in Judges 2:18, it is Yahweh who is saving Israel, while Judges 2:16 it was the judge who saved Israel. The judge and Yahweh worked in concert.
