Then Joshua and all Israel with him took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the cloak, and the bar of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his cattle, and his donkeys, and his sheep, and his tent and all that he had, and they brought them up to the Valley of Achor.
“the Valley of Achor.” The word Achor means “disaster” or “trouble,” and the valley was named “the Valley of Disaster” after the incident with Achan and because of it (cp. Josh. 7:25-26).
