When I saw among the spoil one beautiful Babylonian cloak, 200 shekels of silver and one bar of gold weighing fifty shekels, then I coveted them and took them. Behold, they are hidden in the ground in the middle of my tent, with the silver under it.” Bible other translations

“bar of gold.” The Hebrew is literally, “tongue of gold.” When the gold was poured out, it usually came out in an oblong or “tongue” shape.
