“This is what the whole congregation of Yahweh says, ‘What is this unfaithfulness that you have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from
following after Yahweh, in that you have built yourselves an altar to rebel this day against Yahweh?
“the whole congregation.” That is, the whole gathering of Israel. It is a covenant word; this is the covenant community.
