Beyond the Jordan at Jericho, eastward, they assigned Bezer out of the tribe of Reuben, in the wilderness on the plateau; Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad; and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh.
“they assigned Bezer.” The city of Bezer was more or less east of Jericho.
“Golan.” “Golan” is the name of a city in the modern Golan Heights, but the ancient name for the area was Bashan.
