Then the two men returned, came down from the hill country, crossed over the Jordan and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and they told him all that had happened to them.
“that had happened to them.” The Hebrew is idiomatic: the spies “told all that found them.” This idiom occurs in a number of places (cp. Judg. 6:13).
