Then all his brothers came to him and all his sisters and all those who had been of his acquaintance before, and ate bread with him in his house. They comforted him and consoled him concerning all the evil that Yahweh had brought on him. Everyone also gave him a qisitah and a ring of gold.

“a ring of gold.” The custom was that rings were worn by women in the nose, or by both men and women in their ears. It was not usual for a common person to wear a ring on his or her finger.
