Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand,
and marked off the heavens with his span,
and enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure,
and weighed the mountains in scales
and the hills in a balance?
“span.” A span was the distance between the tip of the thumb and the tip of the little finger if the hand was spread out and the fingers extended.
