When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. Bible see other translations

“husband who was with her.” We could translate that more freely as, “who was right there with her,” because that is the clear implication of the Hebrew text. Everett Fox says Adam was “beside” Eve.a Adam failed in his duty as Priest and Protector.
