But they said, “Stand aside!” Then they said, “This one came as a sojourner and he is behaving like a judge. Now we will deal worse with you than with them!” And they pressed strongly against the man, against Lot, and drew near to break down the door.
“and he is behaving like a judge.” Lot demonstrated this when he sat in the gate of the city (cp. Gen. 19:1; Prov. 1:21).
