“You are to honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that Yahweh your God gives you.
“You are to honor your father and your mother.” This is the fifth of the Ten Commandments, and it is one verse long. The “you” is singular from the singular verb. See commentary on Exodus 20:3, “you.”
