I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day that you will perish, yes, perish quickly from off the land into which you will go over the Jordan to possess; you will not prolong your days on it but will be destroyed, yes, destroyed! Bible see other translations

“perish, yes, perish...destroyed, yes, destroye​d.” These are two examples of the figure of speech polyptoton. God is making it very clear that if people turned away from Him and served idols they would perish.
