And it came to pass when I, Daniel, had seen the vision, that I sought to understand it; and behold, there stood before me one having the appearance of a mighty man.
“mightyman.” The Hebrew word for “man” is geber (#01397 גֶּבֶר), referring to a strong man, a mighty man, a warrior. This was a powerful angel, and we learn from Daniel 8:16 it was Gabriel.
