So all the work that Solomon did for the house of Yahweh was finished. And Solomon brought in the holy items that belonged to David his father; the silver and the gold and all the articles, and put them in the treasuries of the house of God.

Preparations for the Temple Dedication

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh out of the city of David, which is Zion.
And all the men of Israel assembled together to the king at the feast that was in the seventh month.

All the elders of Israel came, and the Levites lifted up the ark,
and they brought up the ark and the Tent of Meeting and all the holy items that were in the Tent; the priests and the Levites brought these up.
King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel who assembled to him in front of the ark were sacrificing so many sheep and cattle that they were neither counted nor numbered.
The priests brought the ark of the covenant of Yahweh into its place, into the inner sanctuarya of the house, into the Holy of Holies, under the wings of the cherubim.
For the cherubim spread out their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles from above.
The poles were so long that the ends of the poles coming from the ark could be seen from in front of the inner sanctuary, but they could not be seen from outside; and it is there to this day.
There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets that Moses put thereb at Horeb when Yahweh cut a covenant with the children of Israel when they came out of Egypt.

And when the priests had come out of the Holy Place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves without regard for their divisions,
and also the Levites who were the singers, all of them, Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and their relatives, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals and lyres and harps, stood at the east side of the altar, and with them 120 priests blowing trumpets)
the trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to Yahweh. And when they lifted up their voices along with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised Yahweh, saying, “For he is good; for his covenant faithfulness endures forever,” then the house—the house of Yahweh—was filled with a cloud,
and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, because the glory of Yahweh filled God’s house.
