Then he made an altar of bronze, 20 cubits longa and 20 cubits wide, and ten cubitsb high.
Also he made a sea of cast metal, ten cubitsc from brim to brim, circular in form, and its height was five cubitsd and its circumference was 30 cubits.e
Under it were the images of gourds that encircled it, ten per cubit, encircling the sea. The gourds were in two rows, cast when it was cast.
It stood on 12 oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east, and the sea was set on top of them, and all their hindquarters were inward.
It was a handbreadth thick and its brim was worked like the brim of a cup, like the flower of a lily; it could hold 3,000 baths.
He made ten basins and put five on the right hand and five on the left, to wash in them. They rinsed the items used for burnt sacrifices in them, but the sea was for the priests to wash in.
He made the ten menorahs of gold in the way prescribed for them, and he set them in the Temple, five on the right hand and five on the left.
And he made ten tables and placed them in the Holy Place, five on the right hand and five on the left. He made 100 basins of gold.
Also, he made the courtyard of the priests, and he made the great court and doors for the court, and he overlaid their doors with bronze.
He set the sea on the right side of the court toward the southeast.
Huram made the pots and the shovels and the basins.
So Huram finished doing the work that he did for King Solomon on the house of God:
the two pillars and the bowls, and the two capitals that were on the top of the pillars, and the two latticeworks that covered the two bowl-shaped capitals that were on the top of the pillars,
and the 400 pomegranates for the two latticeworks, two rows of pomegranates for each latticework that covered the two bowl-shaped capitals that were on the top of the pillars.
He made the stands and he made the basins that were on the stands,
and the one sea, and the 12 oxen under it.
Huram-abi made the pots, the shovels, the forks, and all the articles for King Solomon for the house of Yahweh out of polished bronze.
The king cast them in the plain of the Jordan, in the thick ground between Sukkoth and Zeredah.
Solomon made all these articles in great abundance, so the weight of the bronze was not measured.
Solomon made all the articles that were in the house of God, the golden altar, and the tables on which the Bread of the Presence was placed,
and the menorahs with their lamps, to burn them in the way prescribed, in front of the Holy of Holies, of pure gold;
and the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs of gold, of purest gold;
and the snuffers, and the sprinkling bowls, and the spoons, and the fire pans, of pure gold. And as for the entrance of the house, the inner doors of the Holy of Holies and the doors of the main hall of the Temple were of gold.
