“and in my soul.” The Hebrew translated “soul” is the word nephesh (#05315 נֶפֶשׁ), and nephesh has a wide range of meanings. Here it refers to God’s thoughts and desires, which is why many English translations say “mind.” [For more on nephesh and soul see Appendix 7, “Usages of ‘Soul’”].
