“said, yes, said.” The Hebrew text uses the figure of speech polyptoton for emphasis, doubling the word “said.” [For more on polyptoton and this way of translating it, see commentary on Gen. 2:16].

“would walk before me forever.” This seems to go back to the High Priestly line that came from Aaron.
