And he said, “In peace. I have come to sacrifice to Yahweh. Make yourselves holy and come with me to the sacrifice.” Then he sanctified Jesse and his sons and called them to the sacrifice.
“make yourselves holy.” The people were to do what it took to make themselves holy in the sight of God (cp. Lev. 11:44).
