But the poles were so long that the ends of the poles could be seen from the Holy Place in front of the inner sanctuary, but they could not be seen from outside the Temple; and there they are to this day.
“to this day.” This tells us that at least this part of 1 Kings was written before the Babylonians destroyed the Temple in 586 BC, because when this was written the Temple was still standing.
