So Ahab came into his house sullen and angry because of the word that Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him, for he had said, “I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.” He laid down on his bed and turned away his face and would not eat
any food.
“So Ahab came into his house sullen and angry.” Ahab had the same emotional response from the word of the prophet (1 Kings 21:42-43) and what Naboth had said to him based on the Law. King Ahab was not humble and wanted to do things his way, not God’s way.
