But of the children of Israel Solomon did not make any slaves, but they were the men of war, and his servants, and his officials, and his captains, and commanders of his chariots and of his horsemen.
“and his servants.” The word “servants” is the same as “slaves” in the first part of the sentence, but obviously it has a different meaning here.
